Made a Witch prosthetic for my daughter's Halloween costume. Made some gelatin for this one based on Matthew Mungle's recipe I got from Todd Debreceni's book. Did a make up test application this past weekend! She's not in costume. Only the appliance.

The really creepy thing is such young looking eyes in that old face. Great work.

Thanks for the feedback! Heres some shots of the make up in progress.

Applying Top Guard to help adhesive stick better and also provide a barrier to reduce sweat getting through to the gelatin. Gelatin melts with moisture.

Blending edges with witch hazel. Witch hazel melts gelatin making it possible to hide edges rather well.

Bryan,
Another great makeup. I really love the sculpture detail in the prosthetic. Your Daughter is a great sport and by being so gets some awsome makeups for Halloween! :D

Your finished piece in Gelatin stay on well? I have made small pieces in gelatin but never a full prosthetic. Are there any suggestions or changes you may have made once you have had the chance to complete the piece and apply it?

I really love your process pictures, they really illustrate what went into the makeup and is a great learning tool as well.

Thanks!

Bryan, brilliant work. You have inspired me to do something similar. Can you tell me how much gelatin you had to use to create this full face appliance? Cheers!

That is brilliant!
Really an inspiration!

Wonderful sculpture and great application.

Did the lip of the appliance end under the lower lip? It blends so nicely!

Great work.

Beautiful work Bryan. HOW OLD is the model? She looks like she's about 12 years old!! HAHA!! OKAY NEVER MIND - she's 11 years old. Saw the video - duh, Monday morning - need to come to. And THIS IS YOUR DAUGHTER? YOU don't look old enough yourself. Sheesh!! I MUST REALLY be getting old. :)

Seriously superb work IN GELATIN no less. Awesome sculpt, detail, textures, etc, just beautifully done. What was this for - just portfolio? OKAY HALLOWEEN. Just have to read far enough!! As for the eyes - hard to do much about that except with lenses - but have to be specific or just totally fantasy lenses, but old age would have worked well. STILL without this is a superb piece of work. You should be very proud of this one.

She is such a little trooper! I remember seeing this on youtube and just being completely blown away by the detail and the fit of it on her face and how well it moved with her expressions. I REALLY love the flesh-toned old age quality to this makeup and find it such a refreshing little twist to the typical green face witch concept. BAH! So much talent and again, brilliant work you did here :D
